Casein, also known as Galalith, is an early plastic made from natural proteins. Ivory pattern running all through the material, with the grain radiating from the centre of the rod. Turn and carves well, and polishes to a beautiful finish. Can be used for high-end pens, or makes an ideal material for guitar bridge and end pins. 150 x 23mm rounded rod, approximately 6 x 7/8"
